06 Sep Weekly Newsletter – September 2nd
Welcome to Washington Global or Welcome Back!
We are so excited to begin this new school year. We have a lot of great things planned for our students and are happy to have you as part of our Washington Global Family. This newsletter will be sent home weekly and will have updates and important information about things going on around the school.
Labor Day Holiday
There is no school on Monday, September 5th due to the Labor Day Holiday.
After School Activities
Rowing and Orchestra start on Tuesday September 6th! Please call the front office (202-796-2415) for more information or to enroll your child.
Back to School Night
Back to School Night will be held on Tuesday, September 13th from 5:30 to 6:30 pm. This is a great opportunity to see the school, meet your student’s teachers and learn more about their classes.
Progress Reports and Online Gradebook Access
Students will be given a progress report every other week as a way to help students and parents keep track of grades. The first progress report will be sent home next Friday, September 9th. In the upcoming weeks we will also send home more information about how students and parents can access the online gradebook to track student progress from home.
School Supplies and Preparedness
School begins at 8:00 and it is important that all students arrive by that time. In addition, please make sure that your child arrives each day with a binder, pencils, paper and any other materials that have been requested by their teacher.
As of today, students and parents can now access our online learning website. This website provides homework reminders, important due dates and other information about what is occurring in the different classes. To create an account, you will need to complete the following steps:
Go to the website:
When prompted enter the code: JYSJF.
You will then be asked to identify whether you are a student or parent and will create an account by selecting “register” at the bottom of the screen.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out to your child’s teacher at any time with questions or concerns you may have. You may call the school at 202-796-2415 and leave a message or you can send an e-mail using the e-mail addresses below.
